As you know, the price of a real luxury oceangoing yacht starts at well over $500,000 and can easily run into the millions, placing ownership outside the grasp of most of us. In addition, even the most avid boater is unlikely to use his yacht more than a few days each month. It was taking those two factors into consideration that the concept of Fractional Yacht ownership was created.

We divide the ownership of a yacht into shares and each share entitles the owner of that share to use the yacht for 28 days each year - GUARANTEED - and that includes at least one holiday weekend in the mix.

This does not mean that you have to plan your usage a year in advance. Quite the contrary. While you certainly can schedule yourself for your boat well in advance to prepare for a special occasion, you can also schedule the night before if no one has it reserved for the next day. That way, spur of the moment mini-vacations are also possible.
